CLM Business Solution Manager - PoC & Implementation Support (Pharma CDMO)
Location: Global / Remote flexibility
Duration: 6 months (potential extension)
Start Date: Immediate availability
Overview:
Lonza is launching a strategic Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) initiative within its CDMO operations. We are seeking a senior interim CLM Business Solution Manager to guide and support the PoC validation, business process alignment, and stakeholder engagement ahead of and during the early phases of implementation.

The role will not be hands-on with system configuration-that work will be handled by an external implementation partner and the selected CLM vendor. Instead, the focus will be on ensuring business requirements are fully captured, processes are aligned and optimized, compliance protocols are followed, and effective knowledge transfer takes place internally.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. 1. PoC Validation & Business Case Support
- Coordinate and oversee the proof-of-concept execution across procurement, quality, and contract functions.
- Validate that CLM tool capabilities align with Lonza's business requirements.
- Support business case development and ensure alignment with digital strategy and stakeholder priorities.
2. 2. Business Process Alignment & Optimization
- Lead cross-functional workshops to align and optimize business processes with CLM tool functionality.
- Act as the bridge between the business and implementation partner to ensure practical, scalable process design.
- Promote digital process efficiency and identify areas for simplification and automation.
3. 3. Stakeholder Engagement & Requirements Management
- Drive structured stakeholder engagement across Procurement, Quality, and Contract teams (not Legal).
- Ensure all user and business requirements are properly captured, prioritized, and tracked.
- Serve as the central point of contact to coordinate input from site and global stakeholders.
4. 4. Testing Oversight & CSV Compliance
- Oversee testing preparation and execution to ensure full compliance with Lonza's CSV (Computer System Validation) standards.
- Review and ensure traceability of business requirements to test cases and validation deliverables.
- Coordinate with implementation partner to align testing timelines, responsibilities, and reporting.
5. 5. Knowledge Transfer & Transition Planning
- Ensure business and technical knowledge captured during the design and PoC is transferred effectively to Lonza teams.
- Prepare for handover to the future system owner and permanent business solution manager.
- Support development of SOPs, documentation, and training material in collaboration with the implementation partner.
Candidate Profile:
- 7+ years' experience in business process management or solution ownership within Pharma/Health Sciences
- Strong understanding of CLM processes in quality, procurement, and contract administration (excluding legal focus)
- Experience supporting PoC initiatives, vendor evaluation, and digital solution implementations
- Knowledge of CLM tools (e.g., Icertis, Agiloft, Veeva, DocuSign CLM) and their capabilities
- Familiarity with CSV principles and GxP compliance expectations in system testing
- Proven ability to engage and align global stakeholders and manage functional requirements
- Skilled in cross-functional communication, knowledge transfer, and transition planning
- Fluent in English; experience working in matrix and regulated environments is essential
