World Meteorological Organization, CREWS Secretariat, Geneva, is seeking a Programme Officer—Policy and External Relations. You will lead external relations, policy coordination and resource mobilization to advance CREWS within the international climate and disaster risk reduction agenda.

The role reports to the CREWS Director and involves engagement with donor governments and multilateral partners. Required: master’s degree or equivalent, 7+ years in international relations or development,

Qualifikationen

• Master’s degree or equivalent in Environmental Sciences, Development Studies, International Relations, Programme Management or a related discipline.
• A first-level university degree or equivalent in combination with two years of additional directly relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of the master’s degree.
• Demonstrated experience engaging with bilateral and multilateral donors.
• Experience developing successful funding proposals and resource mobilization strategies.

Aufgaben

• External Relations and Strategic Partnerships: Develop and implement the external relations and partnership strategy for CREWS; build and maintain donor relationships; oversee staff delivering external relations, policy advocacy, communications and fundraising; represent CREWS in international meetings.
• Policy and Strategic Coordination: Monitor policy developments related to climate change and disaster risk; prepare policy papers and briefing materials; ensure alignment with global frameworks (Sendai, Paris Agreement, SDGs, G7/G20).
• Resource Mobilization: Develop and implement fundraising strategies; identify funding opportunities; lead investment cases and donor presentations; coordinate funding negotiations.
• Communications and Visibility: Contribute to strategic communications; develop key messaging for external audiences; oversee production of policy briefs, presentations, web content and promotional materials.
