Zusammenfassung

The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) seeks a Temporary Science Officer to support the Global Cryosphere Watch (GCW) implementation in Geneva. You will engage with Members, document priority cryosphere observations, and help integrate data within WIGOS and WIS 2.0, while assisting website redevelopment on the WMO platform.

Under supervision of the Head of the Cryosphere Monitoring, Prediction and Services Unit, you will contribute to data migration, enhance discoverability of cryosphere

Qualifikationen

• Master's degree or equivalent in a relevant science field is required.
• A first-level university degree with two years of directly relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of the master's degree.

Aufgaben

• Support revitalization of GCW National Focal Point network through regular engagement with Members and partner organizations.
• Identify and document priority cryosphere observations and datasets for WIGOS/WIS 2.0 integration and discoverability.
• Assist migration and redevelopment of the GCW website on the WMO platform in collaboration with the Communications Office.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Ausbildung

Master's degree or equivalent in Earth system science, cryosphere science, meteorology, hydrology, environmental science, geoinformatics, data science, or a related field

First-level university degree with two years of directly relevant experience (in lieu of Master's)
