Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking a senior UX leader to shape the OpenBlue software portfolio. You will guide a global design team, align with Product Management and AI, and drive customer-centered experiences that are both delightful and scalable.

You will lead hands-on design work while setting a strategic UX vision, ensuring accessibility, and delivering data-rich, cloud-native interfaces across browser and mobile platforms.

Qualifications

• Min 10 years in UX or product design with a portfolio showing outcomes.
• Hands-on design craft turning ambiguous problems into intuitive journeys and compelling interfaces.
• Team leadership: minimum 3 years leading a team of UX/design professionals.
• Customer-led collaboration across Engineering, Product, AI and CxO levels.
• Business fluence: understand how UX drives revenue and retention; defend investments with metrics.
• SaaS background in browser-based and mobile data-rich apps (B2B/B2C/B2B2C).
• AI tools experience to generate designs and user experiences.
• Familiarity with WCAG, accessibility conformance, and inclusive design.

Responsibilities

• Define the UX vision and roadmap across the OpenBlue portfolio.
• Lead, coach and develop a UX/UI team with clear priorities and high standards.
• Hands-on shaping of concepts from exploration to detailed interaction and interfaces.
• Create user flows, wireframes, journey maps and prototypes; explore alternatives.
• Partner with customers, Product Management, AI and Engineering to test assumptions.
• Build and evolve shared design patterns and a scalable design system.
• Embed research and usability testing into development; measure impact.
