As a Chef de Partie at The Venice Simplon-Orient-Express, a Belmond Train, you are part of a team that brings culinary visions to life through immersive, unique, and hand-crafted gastronomic experiences. In this role, you will work alongside the Sous Chefs and skilled colleagues to prepare the highest quality food from recipes. Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Preparing and cooking a variety of exquisite menus befitting the train's luxurious dining experience.
  • Supports the Sous Chef and Executive Chef by performing all assigned tasks efficiently and with a positive attitude.
  • Actively enforces safety, health, and hygiene standards in the kitchen, contributing to a safe and sanitary working environment.
  • Keeps the workstation, kitchen, and storage areas spotless at all times, ensuring a clean and hygienic environment.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated culinary expertise with a minimum of 2 years in fine dining establishments, with an overall minimum of 5 years work experience.
  • Ability to quickly adjust to the dynamic and confined working conditions aboard a luxury train and handle unexpected challenges smoothly.
  • A keen eye for detail in food quality, presentation, and maintaining impeccable hygiene and safety standards.
  • A commitment to creating exceptional culinary experiences that align with the prestigious reputation of the Belmond brand.
  • Travelling extensively across Europe.
  • European or Swiss passport.
  • Fluency in English, with a basic comprehension of Italian and French.
