Job summary

Applitrack is seeking a School Nurse to provide health services within a district setting in Illinois. You will coordinate health plans for students, participate in interdisciplinary teams, and ensure adherence to ISBE/IDPH guidelines.

You will administer first aid, assist with screenings, manage medications, and maintain confidential health records. A valid IL educator license with a school nurse endorsement and CPR/AED certification are required.

Qualifications

• Licensed as a State of Illinois Professional Educator.
• School Nurse endorsement required for all grade levels.
• IDPH certification in vision and hearing.
• CPR/AED certification current.

Responsibilities

• Make health-related educational recommendations for students' IEPs or Section 504 plans per ISBE guidelines.
• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings to share information on students' health needs and educational programs.
• Administer first aid and specialized medical treatments.
• Assist with mandated screenings (vision, dental, hearing).
• Assess situations for student safety and related issues.
• Contact parents about changes in students' health.
• Collaborate with school RN and district lead nurse; health records management.

Education

State of Illinois Professional Educator License

School Nurse endorsement for all grade levels

Illinois Department of Public Health certified in vision and hearing

Current CPR/AED Certification

Salary placement shall be made by the Board or the Board designee and is commensurate with education and experience pursuant to the APT Negotiated Agreement

Description:

• Makehealth-related educational recommendations for students' individualizededucation plans (IEPs) or Section 504 plans per ISBE guidelines
• Participate in a variety of meetings and interdisciplinary teams for the purposeof gathering, conveying and/or sharing information on students' health needs, service delivery, and educational programs
• Administerfirst aid and specialized medical treatments
• Assistwith mandated screenings (vision, dental, hearing)
• Assesssituations forstudent safety and other related issues
• Contactparents to advise themof changes in students' health
• Collaboratewith building RN and district lead nurse
• Collaboratewith parents, students, andhealth care providers
• Fosterand maintain students' confidential files and records
• Obtainmedications and properly maintain medications for the purpose of adhering to the district medication policies and procedures
• Performrelated duties as assigned
