Zusammenfassung

Jedsy, a leader in advanced drone logistics, seeks a Certification & Safety Manager (MWD) to lead regulatory and safety activities for our drone operations. You will prepare, review, and maintain SORA-based applications and supporting docs, coordinating with authorities and internal teams to ensure compliance.

Excellent reading and interpretation of aviation regulations in English are required, with an in-person test provided.

We are looking for an experienced Certification & Safety Manager (MWD) to join our team to lead our certification and safety activities, and contribute significantly to the continued development of our unmanned aviation operations.

The Mission

As the Certification & Safety Manager (MWD) at Jedsy, you will lead the regulatory and operational safety work required for our drone operations. You will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and maintaining SORA-based operational authorisation applications and supporting documentation.

You will manage and support existing certification team members and take responsibility for ensuring that certification and safety requirements are correctly understood, documented, and applied across the organisation.

Formal certification experience is not required, but you must be able to read, understand, and apply complex aviation regulations with accuracy in English. This ability will be assessed in the interview process with an in person test on provide material.

You should have a meaningful and a demonstrable connection to drones or aviation and possess a high degree of integrity along with the confidence to speak up when something is unsafe, incomplete, or not as it should be.

Key Responsibilities
  • Study, interpret, and apply SORA requirements, applicable Means of Compliance, EASA guidance, and other relevant aviation regulations to Jedsy operations and documentation.
  • Coordinate certification activities to create and maintain accurate applications, manuals, compliance documents, records, deadlines, and open actions.
  • Communicate professionally with aviation authorities, external consultants, technical partners and internal teams as required.
  • Manage and review the work of the existing certification team and coordinate with engineering, flight operations, training, and management.
  • Support risk assessments, flight incident reviews, corrective actions, and raise safety or compliance concerns clearly and professionally.
  • Stay on top of a high workload with shifting priorities and timelines.
Your Requirements
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a precise, structured, and independent working style.
  • Strong analytical ability and an interest in reading, researching, and understanding complex technical information.
  • Strong written and spoken English.
  • A meaningful background in or practical connection to drones or aviation, such as drone operations, a pilot licence, gliding, hang gliding, paragliding, ultralight flying, model aircraft, or a similar activity.
  • Confidence to challenge something that appears unsafe, incorrect, incomplete, or noncompliant.
  • Ability to manage team members, review work carefully, and follow up on priorities and deadlines.
  • Experience using AI tools.
  • Familiarity with SORA, EASA UAS regulations, or Means of Compliance is helpful but not required.

Application/Interview Process

After applying, selected candidates will be provided with reference material on EASA SORA / UAS certification (SAIL III operations) by our hiring team.

Stage 1 is a online quiz to confirm you've reviewed the material provided.

Stage 2 is an in-person, proctored assessment covering the same material in more depth, without reference materials.

Stage 3 is an interview with our Global HR Manager.

Stage 4 is an interview with our Founder/CTO.

You don't need prior expertise, but you do need to genuinely read and absorb the highly technical and complex aviation regulation material provided. The in person test is designed make gaps in preparation or learning apparent. We encourage the use of AI tools to help candidates study and prepare, but not as a replacement for learning.
