HYTE is supporting an innovative unmanned aviation company at the forefront of aerial intelligence and drone technology.
The organisation is developing and operating advanced UAV systems, working closely with regulatory authorities to deliver certified, safe and scalable operations across complex environments.
As part of its continued growth, the company is seeking a Flight Test Engineer to support and drive flight test activities, compliance verification and certification efforts under EASA frameworks.
This is a highly hands‑on role, requiring someone who can operate across engineering, operations and regulatory domains, while building structure and processes in a fast‑evolving environment.
- Develop and maintain flight test procedures, test cards and risk assessments aligned with engineering and safety requirements
- Plan and monitor flight and ground test campaigns, ensuring traceability to requirements and certification objectives
- Prepare test reports and compliance documentation suitable for EASA, FAA and other regulatory authorities
- Support SORA and SAIL activities, including operational risk assessments and contingency validation
- Coordinate closely with systems, avionics and mechanical teams to ensure alignment with programme‑level goals
- Maintain configuration control, data integrity and high documentation standards throughout testing activities
- Support engagement with authorities, including responding to findings and providing compliance evidence
- Prepare flight test orders and ensure readiness across pilots, operators, ground crew and engineering teams
- Act as Telemetry Controller during test campaigns, monitoring real‑time data and supporting mission execution
- Degree in Aeronautical, Aerospace or Systems Engineering (or equivalent)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in aerospace test engineering, with a focus on compliance verification
- Strong understanding of flight mechanics, avionics and systems integration
- Experience defining and executing test plans and delivering certification documentation
- Solid knowledge of EASA certification frameworks and SORA / SAIL processes
- Experience in flight test planning, safety processes, telemetry and instrumentation
- Strong communication and documentation skills, with the ability to translate test results into compliance evidence
- Ability to coordinate across multiple teams and stakeholders
- Experience with UAV flight testing under EASA oversight
- Knowledge of data analysis tools such as Python or MATLAB
- Experience with certification frameworks across EASA, FAA or similar
- Background in safety assessments such as FHA, PSSA, FMEA or FTA
- Experience supporting audits or working directly with regulatory authorities
- Hands‑on experience with SIL/HIL environments, ground control stations or payload integration
- Familiarity with Jira and Confluence
- German language skills (B2 or above)
