Jobbeschreibung

Bacterial contamination of food & pharmaceutical products represents an ongoing public health hazard, resulting in massive food waste and billions of dollars in costs to food companies every year. Current bacterial detection and identification methods used in the industry are slow and can require up to several days to provide results.

At Myriad Optics, we are building the next generation of bacterial sensing technology, using Raman spectroscopy, combined with biochemistry and microfluidics. An early-stage startup, we are based at EPFL in Lausanne.

Role Overview

As we refine our product-market-fit, we are looking for a business developer to support us on market analysis, customer outreach and partnerships, among others. Above all, we are looking for a driven individual ready to help us discover and unlock new market segments in the biotech, food and pharmaceutical industries.

Your work will include:

• Conducting market research and analysis to identify target segments, market sizes, and assess competitive landscape.
• Preparing for and conducting customer interviews and surveys to gather insights and validate assumptions.
• Analyzing customer feedback and data to inform product development and business strategy.
• Creating presentations, executive summaries, and other business documents to help support customer outreach.

Who we are looking for

• A scientific/engineering background is preferred, but business graduates who can demonstrate previous work on biotech topics are also welcome to apply. This position is particularly suited for candidates in life sciences, chemistry, biotechnology, but candidates with different degrees are also welcome to apply, if they can demonstrate previous experience in biotech, food or pharmaceutical industries.
• Fluent in English and excellent communication skills.
• Highly motivated, proactive and able to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.

The position is part-time (40-60%) but is open to negotiation depending on the profile and the duration of the contract. Applicants looking to work mainly in a hybrid format (online) are welcome to apply.
