Job summary

Nord Anglia Education's Beau Soleil campus in Villars-sur-Ollon is seeking a caring Boarding Assistant to join our international community. You will support Housemasters and Housemistresses, help supervise daily life, meals, activities and study supervision, and contribute to a warm, inclusive home environment for students.

The role suits recent graduates or early-career professionals who are enthusiastic, responsible and ready to engage in a wide range of activities.

Qualifications

• Qualified to degree level.
• English native speaker or high level of English comprehension. Good level of French is helpful but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Housemaster/mistress and Deputy Housemaster/mistress in daily house operations.
• Support students as individuals and in group activities.
• Take part in weekend programme and daily boarding life, including activities and study supervision.
• Assist with house administration as required.
• Support during evenings and overnight supervision in the Boarding House.
• Coordinate with Health Centre team for student welfare and appointments.
• Attend weekly Training and Support Meetings.
• Undertake any other duties as required by the School.

YOUR PROFILE

We are looking for a caring, reliable and enthusiastic Boarding Assistant to join our community.

Working closely with the Housemaster/mistress (HM) and Deputy Housemaster/mistress (DHM), you will help foster a warm and supportive atmosphere — a true “home away from home” where students feel comfortable, respected and motivated to reach their full potential.

As a constant presence in the house, you will play an essential role in the daily life of our students — offering guidance, encouragement and a listening ear. Whether you are helping with studies, joining in evening activities or simply sharing everyday moments, your contribution will help make boarding life both meaningful and memorable.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Working with the HM and DHM to ensure the successful running of the house to provide the best possible care and experience for the students in the house
• Getting to know the students in the house and supporting them as individuals
• Being an active, positive presence in the house during the day and evening, participating in daily boarding life, including cooking and baking and planning house activities
• Assisting with house administration as required
• Extensive involvement in the weekend programme
• 6-8 lessons a week supporting in lessons
• Supporting two activities or sports teams across the year
• Overnight supervision in the Boarding House
• Helping at La Sionnaire during the Winter season (chalet on the ski slopes)
• Study supervision
• Working alongside the Health Centre team to provide support and take students to doctors/dental appointments
• Airport transfers
• Attend weekly Training and Support Meetings
• Any other duties which may be required from time to time by the School

EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Qualified to degree level
• English native speaker or high level of English comprehension. Good level of French is helpful but not essential

EXPERIENCE

• Experience of working with young people in a residential setting is helpful but not essential

• Ability to form good working relationships within the house team, boarding team and across the school

• European passport holder for compliance with Swiss work permit regulations

WHAT WE OFFER

• A 10 month fixed contract, from September 2027 to June 2028
• Accommodation is included for the duration of your contract (subject to social charges)
• Food is included during term time (subject to social charges)
• Basic health insurance (Lamal) is provided and paid for by the College
• Full season ski pass and equipment hire provided
