Job summary

Lonza in Visp is seeking a Bioprocess Engineer for MMM MC1 DSP 80-100% (m/f/d). You will lead downstream purification activities, including chromatography, virus inactivation, and filtration, to ensure product quality and GMP compliance in a cGMP environment.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or equivalent in biotechnology or related life sciences; or Bachelor's with pharma production experience.
• Knowledge in USP or DSP units (e.g., chromatography).
• Several years of biomanufacturing experience.
• GMP experience and understanding of bioprocess technology.
• Excellent English; German is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure operational activities for clinical and/or commercial manufacturing are performed on-time and within safety and quality standards.
• Act as the functional lead for preparation, manufacturing execution, cleaning and changeover in the assigned area.
• Execute and optimize downstream purification steps such as chromatography, virus inactivation, depth filtration, TFF, and filling to ensure product quality, yield, and GMP compliance.
• In charge of one or more defined DSP areas (e.g. gain, polishing or filling) for purification of therapeutic proteins from mammalian sources.
