Lonza in Visp, Switzerland, seeks a Bioprocess Engineer for MMM MC1 DSP 80-100% (m/f/d). You will lead downstream purification activities, support both clinical and commercial manufacturing, and ensure adherence to GMP and safety standards.

Ideal candidates hold a Master’s in Biotechnology or related Life Science field (or a Bachelor’s with pharma production experience) and have experience with DSP/USP units, GMP, and strong English communication, with German a plus.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or equivalent in Biotechnology, Biochemical Engineering, Biochemistry or related Life Science subject or Bachelor's with pharma production experience.
• Knowledge in USP or DSP units (e.g., chromatography) is required or beneficial.
• Several years working experience in biomanufacturing.
• GMP experience and understanding of bioprocess technology.
• Excellent English communication; German skills are advantageous.

Responsabilités

• Ensure completion of operational activities for clinical and/or commercial manufacturing on time within safety and quality standards.
• Act as functional lead for preparation, manufacturing execution, cleaning and changeover in the assigned area.
• Execute and optimize downstream purification steps (chromatography, virus inactivation, depth filtration, TFF, filling) for product quality and yield.
• Be in charge of one or more DSP areas for purification of therapeutic proteins from mammalian sources.

What you'll do:

In charge of one or more defined DSP areas (e.g. gain, polishing or filling) for the purification of therapeutic proteins from mammalian (Bioprocess Engineer DSP)

What we are looking for:

Master's Degree or equivalent experience in Biotechnology, Biochemical Engineering, Biochemistry or related Life Science subject, or Bachelor's holder with experience in pharma production

Knowledge in either USP (such as bioreactors) or DSP units (such as chromatography)

Couple of years working experience in biomanufacturing required

GMP experience and understanding of bioprocess technology

Excellent communication skills in English, good German skills of advantage
