Lonza in Visp is seeking a Bioprocess Engineer for MMM MC1 DSP 80-100% (m/f/d). You will lead downstream purification activities, including chromatography, virus inactivation, and filtration, to ensure product quality and GMP compliance in a cGMP environment.

This fully site-based role emphasizes close collaboration with experts, supports relocation for eligible candidates and families, and offers an agile career path and a comprehensive benefits package tailored to local Visp conditions.

Competenze

• Master's degree or equivalent in biotechnology or related life sciences; or Bachelor's with pharma production experience.
• Knowledge in USP or DSP units (e.g., chromatography).
• Several years of biomanufacturing experience.
• GMP experience and understanding of bioprocess technology.
• Excellent English; German is a plus.

• Ensure operational activities for clinical and/or commercial manufacturing are performed on-time and within safety and quality standards.
• Act as the functional lead for preparation, manufacturing execution, cleaning and changeover in the assigned area.
• Execute and optimize downstream purification steps such as chromatography, virus inactivation, depth filtration, TFF, and filling to ensure product quality, yield, and GMP compliance.
• In charge of one or more defined DSP areas (e.g. gain, polishing or filling) for purification of therapeutic proteins from mammalian sources.

What you'll do:

• Ensure that operational activities for clinical and/or commercial manufacturing are performed on‑time and within given safety and quality standards

• You will be responsible for executing and optimizing downstream purification steps-such as chromatography, virus inactivation, depth filtration, TFF, and filling‑to ensure product quality, yield, and compliance with GMP standards.
• In charge of one or more defined DSP areas (e.g. gain, polishing or filling) for the purification of therapeutic proteins from mammalian (Bioprocess Engineer DSP)

What we are looking for:

• Master's Degree or equivalent experience in Biotechnology, Biochemical Engineering, Biochemistry or related Life Science subject, or Bachelor's holder with experience in pharma production
• Knowledge in either USP (such as bioreactors) or DSP units (such as chromatography)
• Couple of years working experience in biomanufacturing required
• GMP experience and understanding of bioprocess technology
• Excellent communication skills in English, good German skills of advantage
