Job summary

Novartis in Basel invites a recent Master’s graduate in chemistry, biology, or engineering to join a 2‑year rotational program in Technical Research and Development (TRD) Biologics. You will gain hands-on experience across Drug Product Development, Drug Substance Development, Global Device & Packaging Development and Analytical Development.

Each 6‑month rotation places you with expert teams to develop new bioassays, evaluate packaging modalities, and conduct biophysical characterization of

Qualifications

• Master's degree or equivalent required.
• Fluent in English.
• Hands-on lab experience with autonomous project handling.
• Basic pharma development knowledge including container closure systems.
• Familiarity with protein production, analytical methods, molecular biology, or programming/data modeling.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to TRD‑biologics projects (lab 80%, office 20%).
• Conduct experiments and generate data for TRD‑biologics projects.
• Document and present results related to project activities.
• Collaborate with internal and external development partners and stakeholders.
• Understand how TRD‑Biologics units work together.
