Lonza Visp, Switzerland is seeking an Automation Engineer MES/DeltaV to design, implement, and validate MES recipes and DeltaV control strategies for robust biopharmaceutical manufacturing.
You will collaborate closely with Manufacturing, Process Development, Automation, Engineering and Quality teams to ensure seamless system integration, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence on site.
The actual location of this job is in Visp, Switzerland. Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates and their families, if needed. As a Automation Engineer MES / DeltaV, you will be responsible for the implementation, optimization, and ongoing support of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Emerson DeltaV process control systems within biopharmaceutical manufacturing facilities. You will play a key role in ensuring efficient production operations, regulatory compliance, and adherence to the highest quality standards. This is a fully site-based role. Working together in person supports close, real-time collaboration and the technical precision needed to manufacture medicines to the highest quality and safety standards.

Design, implement, and validate MES recipes and DeltaV control strategies that support robust and compliant biopharmaceutical manufacturing processes. Partner closely with Manufacturing, Process Development, Automation, Engineering, and Quality teams to ensure seamless system integration and operational excellence. Troubleshoot and resolve MES and DeltaV system issues, minimizing production disruptions and supporting reliable plant operations. Develop and maintain technical documentation, including specifications, work instructions, and validation records in accordance with GMP requirements. Support end users through training, technical guidance, and ongoing system expertise. Drive continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to optimize manufacturing processes, automation strategies, and system performance. Contribute to the implementation of new technologies and digital manufacturing solutions that enhance productivity, compliance, and operational efficiency.
