About LAW

Founded in July 2013, Legal Action Worldwide (LAW) is an international non-profit organization headquartered in Geneva. LAW takes a survivor-centered, gender-sensitive approach to legal strategies that improve access to justice and provide redress to the most vulnerable in conflict-affected and fragile regions. LAW’s Rohingya Crisis Programme ensures meaningful Rohingya participation in international justice processes relating to the crimes committed in Myanmar, including proceedings before the ICJ, the ICC, and other accountability mechanisms. In Cox’s Bazar, LAW works with networks of volunteers, Survivor Advocates, and Shanti Mohila (Peace Women) who are at the forefront of the fight for justice for atrocities faced by their communities in Myanmar.

The Position

LAW is seeking a dynamic audiovisual/short film producer to create survivor-centered digital films and related content highlighting the journey of Rohingya survivors seeking justice and accountability.

More about the position

The material for the film will be captured from LAW’s field centre in Kutupalong, the nearby Cox’s Bazar area, and relevant international courts or mechanisms where Rohingya survivors may participate.

The consultant will deliver two short films (approx. 5–7 minutes each) and a combined long-form film (approx. 10–15 minutes), documenting the survivors’ experiences and participation in international justice mechanisms.

What will you do?

    • Script, storyboard, and narrative showing the Rohingya people’s journey since 2017 and their fight for justice.
    • Filming in Cox’s Bazar (approx. 5 days, in second half of October 2025), including survivor interviews, LAW staff, surrounding environment captures and contextual b-rolls.
    • Use of archive footage to show displacements and unfolding events in 2017.
    • Full editing of the video in line with LAW guidance and validations.
    • Post-production: colour grading, subtitles, sound mixing, and up to 2 rounds of revisions.
  • Delivery:
    • First edit: 20 November 2025
    • Final cut (5–7 minutes): 30 November 2025
  • Video 2 – Facing Justice
    • Script, storyboard, and narrative capturing survivors’ participation in international justice mechanisms.
    • If travel to relevant justice mechanisms is possible, footage of interviews with survivors, LAW staff, legal experts, activists and related b‑rolls will be collected. LAW may also provide visuals through internal channels; needs will be discussed with the consultant.
    • Full editing of the video in line with LAW guidance and validations.
    • Post-production: colour grading, subtitles, sound mixing, and up to 2 rounds of revisions.
  • Delivery:
    • First edit: 30 January 2026
    • Final cut (5–7 minutes): 13 March 2026
  • Combined Long-Form Film (10–12 minutes)
    • Integration of Videos 1 and 2 into one long-form version, with smooth transitions.
    • Delivery by end of March 2026
  • Additional Outputs
    • Short social media cuts may be requested.
    • All rushes and raw footage to be handed over to LAW.
