Zusammenfassung

The Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in Geneva, Switzerland seeks an Audio-Visual Editing and Digital Media Intern for six months to support digitization and preservation projects. You will organize, edit, caption, transcript, and archive multimedia files, maintain asset management systems, and collaborate with records management and communications teams.

Fluency in English is required; knowledge of another UN language is a plus.

Qualifikationen

  • Must be enrolled in or have completed a graduate program (second university degree or higher) or be in the final year of a bachelor's degree program.
  • Pursuing or completed a degree in Information Technology/Computer Science, Communications, Film/Media Studies, Business Administration, Management, or related fields.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English is required; knowledge of another UN official language is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and digital records management systems is expected.

Aufgaben

  • Support audiovisual digitization and preservation projects, including video, audio, photographic, and multimedia records.
  • Organize, prepare, and manage audiovisual materials for processing, editing, archiving, and preservation.
  • Perform basic to intermediate video editing (trimming, sequencing, captioning, formatting, export) and audio editing (synchronization, sound-level adjustments, basic restoration).
  • Create subtitles, captions, transcripts, and accessibility materials.
  • Conduct quality control reviews of edited audiovisual content for technical compliance and quality.
  • Organize and maintain digital media assets using established folder structures, naming conventions, and metadata practices.
  • Assist in preparing audiovisual records for long-term digital preservation and archival storage.
  • Track project progress, maintain editing logs, and prepare documentation and reports.
  • Collaborate with records management, communications, and information management teams on audiovisual initiatives.
  • Participate in meetings, take notes, and draft summary reports.
