Job summary

D-ploy in Basel is seeking an associate scientist to support drug substance manufacturing through planned experiments and collaboration within an interdisciplinary team. You will contribute to purification, process development, and documentation while maintaining lab equipment and ensuring project timelines.

The role requires 3+ years of experience or a relevant bachelor's degree, strong lab skills, and fluent English.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years as an associate scientist/associate expert or a completed Bachelor's degree.
  • Proven experience with safe handling of chemicals and equipment.
  • Strong scientific or technical knowledge in biotechnology or related field.
  • Proficiency with laboratory and technical tools, software and computer tools.
  • Experience with downstream development technologies like chromatography or filtration is a plus.
  • Basic presentation and scientific/technical writing skills.
  • Good communication skills and fluent English (oral and written).
  • Candidates must declare a criminal record extract not older than three months.

  • Collaborate within a multifunctional project team coordinated by a Project Leader.
  • Conduct experiments related to purification processes (e.g., chromatography or filtration).
  • Contribute to project-related scientific/technical activities with guidance from experienced team members.
  • Maintain lab instruments and infrastructure, ensuring quality, quantity, and timelines.
  • Document experiments and plant activities and optimize methods for efficiency.
  • Communicate and address problems, perform safety and literature searches, and manage chemicals and solvents.
  • Collaborate with team members to facilitate deliveries of DS.

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as an associate scientist/associate expert or a completed Bachelor's degree

  • Strong scientific or technical knowledge in a specific area (e.g. biotechnology).

  • Proficiency with laboratory and technical tools, as well as software and computer tools.

  • Basic presentation skills and scientific/technical writing skills.

  • Good communication skills.

  • Fluent English (oral and written)
