Job summary

Personal Contact Basel AG is seeking a laboratory technician to perform routine measurements for oligonucleotides, mainly by HPLC with UV and MS detection, in Basel-City.

You will plan, execute and document experiments in a small team, use Empower or OpenLab to control instruments, and evaluate data with Genedata or Oligo Analysis Accelerator while developing analytical methods under GxP guidelines.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship as a chemical laboratory technician with 2–3 years pharma experience.
• Hands-on experience with HPLC and MS instrumentation.
• Interest/background in analytical development for oligonucleotides.
• Knowledge of LC-MS applications preferred.
• Quality mindset and knowledge of GxP across clinical phases.
• Strong English; German beneficial.

Job description

Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Performing routine measurements for oligonucleotides, mainly using HPLC with UV and/or Single Quad MS detection
• Planning, executing and documenting experiments collaboratively in a team of five associates
• Using chromatographic data systems such as Empower or OpenLab to control analytical instruments
• Evaluating data with Genedata or Oligo Analysis Accelerator
• Developing, improving and validating analytical methods for the quality assessment of oligonucleotides
• Ensuring compliance with GxP guidelines and relevant SOPs

Must Haves:

• You hold a vocational scientific qualification, e.g. an apprenticeship as a chemical laboratory technician, with at least 2–3 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. No university degree, Master's degree or PhD is required
• Hands-on experience with analytical instrumentation and techniques, such as HPLC and MS
• Interest in or background in analytical development for oligonucleotides
• Strong knowledge of LC-MS applications and instruments would be a plus
• Experience with large molecules or biologics analytics would be an advantage
• Self-motivated, proactive, open-minded, goal-oriented and a strong team player
• A strong quality mindset, excellent attention to detail and knowledge of GxP requirements across clinical phases
• Good command of English; German proficiency is beneficial
