The Opportunity

We are seeking an Associate Director, Total Rewards, Europe to serve as a critical regional Total Rewards partner embedded with the Europe team during a period of significant growth. The incumbent will bring deep European market, regulatory and country expertise and lead the regional execution of globally designed compensation and benefits programs across several key markets. Working within a clear global COE/regional model, Global Total Rewards owns the overall compensation and benefits strategy, frameworks, program design and governance; this role translates those global frameworks into competitive, scalable and compliant regional and country-level implementation. The Associate Director will serve as the regional subject matter expert and strategic advisor, partnering closely with Business Leaders, European HR leadership and HR Business Partners, Global Total Rewards, Finance, Legal, Talent Acquisition and external partners. This highly visible role requires the ability to move comfortably between regional consultation and hands‑on execution in a fast-moving biotech environment.

This role operates through a solid reporting line to the Vice President, HR, Europe and dotted reporting line to Senior Director, Total Rewards, Global. The Associate Director, Total Rewards is an active member of both the European HR Leadership Team and the Global Total Rewards Team, bringing a business‑led European perspective to global strategy and translating global Total Rewards priorities into effective regional and local execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the regional Total Rewards subject matter expert and strategic advisor, partnering with European HR leadership and HR Business Partners, Global Total Rewards, Finance, Legal, Talent Acquisition and external partners.
• Partner with Global Total Rewards to shape the European Total Rewards execution roadmap, aligning regional priorities and implementation plans with the company's global Total Rewards philosophy, strategy, frameworks and governance.
• Translate globally designed compensation and benefits strategies, frameworks and programs into effective regional and country-level execution, balancing global consistency with local market competitiveness and regulatory requirements.
• Implement scalable regional Total Rewards processes and local governance practices that support continued European expansion and new-country launches, in alignment with global policies and decision frameworks.
• Partner with Global Total Rewards on European compensation benchmarking and market reviews, providing regional market intelligence and recommendations to inform globally owned salary structures, ranges and compensation guidelines. Provide local compensation consultation and expertise for new hires, promotions, internal moves, retention situations and complex or senior-level compensation decisions, applying global frameworks to European market and country requirements.
• Partner with Global Total Rewards and European HR Business Partners on the regional execution of annual compensation processes, including salary reviews, promotions and incentive planning, ensuring consistent application of global frameworks and timelines. Partner with Global Total Rewards on global job architecture, leveling and compensation frameworks; provide European analysis and recommendations on pay competitiveness, internal equity, pay compression and market trends to support their development and application.
• Partner with Global Total Rewards and Regional HR & Business Leaders on the regional implementation of short- and long-term incentive programs, including equity, across Europe.
• Act as a key regional partner to the Global Benefits Director and Global Total Rewards team by providing European market practices, local requirements and implementation expertise for globally owned benefits strategy, program design and governance.
