About the job

Based in the Food & Beverage Department, the Assistant Banquet Manager at Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich, is responsible for leading and directing the Banquet service team daily to ensure the department delivers consistent excellence and guest satisfaction. The Assistant Banquet Manager reports to the F&B Manager.

YOUR TASKS

As Assistant Banquet Manager, your responsibilities include:

  • Supporting and representing the Banqueting Manager in all service-related matters
  • Coordinating daily operations to ensure smooth and efficient service in line with quality standards
  • Ensuring events are thoroughly prepared and executed according to the Banquet Event Order (BEO)
  • Supervising and managing event set-up and breakdown
  • Collaborating with the Event Sales and Kitchen teams
  • Delivering personalized service and professional advice to guests
  • Upholding high standards of guest satisfaction and handling complaints professionally

YOUR PROFILE

We expect from you:

  • Completed training or degree in hospitality, gastronomy, or event management
  • Several years of experience in operational F&B, preferably with a focus on banquets/events in upscale hospitality
  • Proven leadership skills with a motivating and appreciative style
  • Strong communication skills and confidence in handling stakeholders
  • Structured, independent working style, strong organizational skills, and responsibility
  • Service-oriented mindset, hands-on approach, and high quality awareness
  • Fluent in German and English; additional languages are a plus
  • Legal right to work in Switzerland
