Jobbasel in Basel is seeking a Management Company Risk Specialist (Asset Management) to strengthen controls, oversight and governance within a regulated asset management setting. You will help enhance ICS, perform risk assessments and drive process automation using data-driven insights.

The role requires several years in asset management, strong Python skills, and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset. On-site Basel work and fluency in English are essential, with German an advantage.

Qualifikationen

• University degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Mathematics, Data Analytics or a related field.
• Several years of professional experience within asset management, a fund management company (ManCo), fund administration or a comparable investment-fund environment.
• Experience in risk management, internal controls, operational risk, oversight functions or audit within the asset management or fund industry is valuable.
• CFA, FRM or comparable risk-focused certifications are an advantage.
• Exposure to Swiss and/or Luxembourg fund structures and regulatory frameworks is advantageous.
• Strong interest in data analysis, reporting and process automation.
• Hands-on experience using Python for data analysis, reporting automation, control monitoring or risk-related use cases is required.
• Excellent English skills; German is an advantage.
• Valid Swiss work permit or EU/EFTA citizenship; 100% on-site work is required.

Aufgaben

• Maintaining and enhancing the Internal Control System (ICS) in a regulated asset management environment.
• Monitor and assess effectiveness of key controls across fund, management company and operational processes.
• Support and coordinate Risk & Control Self-Assessments (RCSA) including remediation.
• Monitor KRIs and oversee operational and business risks.
• Prepare regular risk and management reporting for senior management and governance bodies.
• Develop the operational risk framework, including incident management and risk assessments.
• Contribute to fund oversight activities and monitoring of fund-related risks.
• Support BCM activities, framework maintenance and testing.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen controls, improve data quality and transparency.
• Design and enhance automated controls, monitoring tools and reporting processes.
• Apply data analysis and automation to risk monitoring and management reporting.
• Collaborate with Risk, Compliance, Operations, Fund Management and other functions.
