Overview of contract

On behalf of our client, a large bank in Switzerland, we are looking for an Application Operations Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operate and maintain Global Data Platform components (VM Servers, Kubernetes, Kafka).
2. Administer and support applications such as Apache stack, Collibra, Dataiku, and similar tools.
3. Manage VM setup, scaling, Kubernetes (K8S) orchestration, and Docker containerization (including Harbor registry).
4. Ensure high availability and performance of distributed storage systems (S3, HDFS).
5. Provide support and implementation for Collibra API/Services.
6. Perform system administration tasks (user management, access control).
7. Configure and maintain Collibra Edge servers.
8. Participate in CI/CD pipeline integration (automated builds, testing, deployment).
9. Define and optimize development, test, release, update, and support processes for DevOps.
10. Collaborate with development teams to push container images via CI/CD pipelines.
11. Maintain technical documentation (solution design, security concepts, blueprints).
12. Ensure compliance with security best practices in infrastructure and application management.
13. Conduct incident management, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis (RCA).
14. Monitor system performance, customer experience, and KPIs.

Required Experience and Skills:

1. 5+ years of experience in cluster environment operations (Kubernetes, distributed storage).
2. Strong background in Unix/Linux system administration.
3. Experience with complex data environments (data integration, consumption, MDM/data catalog).
4. Advanced scripting skills (Bash, Python).
5. Hands-on experience with APIs/Web services.
6. Knowledge of VM scaling, K8S orchestration, and Docker management.
7. Financial industry experience is a plus.
8. DevOps certifications (on-prem/cloud).
