B-HIVE Switzerland in Basel seeks an Analytical Lab Specialist to join a major project with a client in life sciences. You will plan and execute analytical service projects and deliver clear results within tight timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry or analytical chemistry with 3 years of hands-on HPLC laboratory experience.
• Master's degree in analytical chemistry with practical HPLC experience.
• Practical experience with modern UPLC analytical equipment and with Design of Experiments.
• Ability to work in compliance with HSE rules and to make safety a top priority.
• Experience with scripting in R Studio or Python and knowledge of statistical analysis tools.
• English at B2 level (no certificate required); other languages are an asset.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to explain complex results to a non-technical audience.
• Well organized and self-motivated, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Plan and carry out analytical service projects prioritized by the line manager, delivering results within agreed timelines
• Clarify business needs with project sponsors and develop suitable analytical protocols and sample management approaches
• Develop new analytical methods and validate them with internal experts according to project needs
• Design complex, multifactorial experiments that are feasible in practice
• Receive and store samples carefully to prevent errors
• Perform HPLC and other analyses to a high standard of quality, with thorough documentation to ensure traceability
• Maintain analytical equipment, report issues and troubleshoot with vendor technical support when needed
• Process and analyze raw data using existing scripts and develop new ones as required, then present results professionally
