Analyst - Fixed Income ALM Strategy

The candidate will be part of the Asset Liability Management (ALM) team within ISGI (Insurance Solutions Group International), responsible for supporting ISGI's insurance clients in managing their ALM risks. This role will be based in our recently opened Zurich office.

The candidate will support ALM portfolio management activities, trade idea generation, structuring, risk monitoring across core trading strategies (rates / rates volatility / IES / credit), and infrastructure development (PM tools).

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support daily portfolio management activities including sizing and implementing cash and derivative trades, optimizing portfolios to meet client objectives and market conditions, calculating P&L, and controlling trading limits.
• Enhance trading, execution, and reporting processes, including developing advanced risk analytics tools.
• Identify market opportunities, build market analytics, and contribute detailed market updates to internal and external clients, initiating capital-generating trading for insurance businesses.
• Engage daily with affiliate insurance companies to ensure proper implementation of investment strategies.
• Analyze and present new trading strategies within an insurance context, including scenario, sensitivity, or simulation analyses within Solvency and accounting frameworks.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience on a trading desk or in portfolio management at an investment bank or investment management firm.
• Experience working on a trading desk or within a portfolio management team.
• Strong analytical skills, rigorous, and detail-oriented.
• Technical proficiency in at least one asset class and portfolio management analytics, with the ability to produce analysis independently.
• Proficiency in VBA and/or Python.
• Ability to multi-task and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Understanding of insurance-specific asset management principles (ALM and capital management).
• Academic background in finance, mathematics, physics, or equivalent.
• Bachelor's degree from a top-tier engineering or business school with specialization in finance or mathematics.
