ETH Zürich seeks an AI for Science Engineer to build frontier AI systems that accelerate research across ETH labs. You will co-develop agentic pipelines, curate data, evaluate models, and align workflows with researchers to expand capability and scalability.

The role calls for hands-on experience with AI tooling and distributed computing, and strong collaboration with external partners to deliver practical, impactful solutions at ETH Zurich in Zürich.

Qualifikationen

• PhD in computer science or a computational discipline; master's with strong relevant experience also welcome.
• 1–3 years of experience building and deploying agentic or LLM-based systems end-to-end.
• Strong software and systems engineering skills: services, APIs, data pipelines, containers, CI/CD.
• Hands-on experience with modern AI/ML tooling (LLM APIs, agent frameworks, RAG pipelines, PyTorch, HuggingFace) and with model optimization.

Aufgaben

• Partner with research labs to identify use cases for agentic AI and co-develop pipelines and tools.
• Build planning and orchestration components turning research goals into executable workflows.
• Make systems traceable with reproducible runs and understandable interfaces for researchers.
