The Opportunity
We are looking for a hands‑on and reliable Accountant to take responsibility for the accounting activities across multiple companies within the group.
This is a varied role with an international dimension, involving accounting activities and coordination across different countries and jurisdictions, in addition to Switzerland.
As the main internal accounting professional, you will work closely with management, external advisors and international stakeholders to ensure accurate, timely and well‑structured financial operations.
This role offers the opportunity to bring accounting activities in‑house, establish efficient processes and build a solid accounting structure across multiple companies.
What you will do
Accounting & Financial Operations
- Take ownership of day‑to‑day accounting activities across multiple companies within the group
- Manage accounting activities across different legal entities and jurisdictions Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Process and record invoices, payments and other financial transactions
- Manage bank reconciliations and maintain accurate accounting records
- Maintain the general ledger and supporting documentation
- Monitor outstanding receivables and payables
- Manage expense claims and employee expenses
- Support cash flow monitoring and financial planning
- Coordinate financial information and accounting matters across multiple companies and countries
- Work closely with international stakeholders, external accountants and advisors
Closing & Reporting
- Prepare monthly and periodic financial closings
- Prepare financial reports and management information
- Support the preparation of the annual financial statements
- Ensure accurate and timely financial data for management decision‑making
- Coordinate with external accountants, auditors and other financial advisors when required
International Accounting & Coordination
- Coordinate accounting and financial matters across different countries and legal entities
- Work with international stakeholders, external accountants and advisors
- Collect, review and consolidate financial information from different jurisdictions
- Support cross‑border financial processes and transactions
- Ensure that accounting information is accurate, complete and available in a timely manner
- Gain broad exposure to an international group structure and different business environments
Swiss Accounting & Compliance
- Manage Swiss VAT accounting and reporting
- Ensure compliance with applicable Swiss accounting and tax requirements
- Maintain accurate and well‑organized financial documentation
- Support audits and year‑end processes
- Stay informed about relevant accounting and regulatory requirements
Building the Accounting Function
- Help transition accounting activities from external providers into the company
- Establish simple, efficient and scalable accounting processes
- Set up appropriate structures, controls and documentation
- Identify opportunities to improve and automate financial processes
- Help build an accounting function that can grow with the business
Start‑up Support
- Work closely with the founders and leadership team on financial and administrative topics
- Be willing to take ownership beyond traditional accounting responsibilities when needed
- Support ad‑hoc financial analysis and business‑related tasks
- Bring a pragmatic, solution‑oriented approach to a growing organization
- Take ownership of tasks and follow them through to completion
What we are looking for
You are a hands‑on and dependable accounting professional who combines strong technical knowledge with a pragmatic and entrepreneurial approach.
You bring:
- 3–6 years of relevant accounting experience
- Solid knowledge of Swiss accounting practices
- Experience working across multiple companies and/or legal entities
- Experience across a broad range of accounting activities, ideally including AP, AR, general ledger, bank reconciliations and closing
- Experience with Swiss VAT
- Good understanding of financial reporting and year‑end processes
- The ability to work independently and take full ownership of your responsibilities
- Strong attention to detail and a structured way of working
- A proactive mindset — you identify what needs to be done rather than simply waiting for instructions
- Confidence working with international stakeholders and external service providers
- A pragmatic, hands‑on approach and willingness to build processes from scratch
- Good command of common accounting and digital tools
- Fluent German and English
- Experience working in an international environment, across multiple companies or in a start‑up/SME is highly valued.
