Job summary

Unique AI AG in Zürich is seeking an Accountant to support the Finance team with a detail-oriented, pragmatic approach in a fast-moving startup environment. This role covers accounting operations, financial reporting, consolidation, treasury, and cross-functional support.

The ideal candidate has about 5 years of experience in accounting or financial controlling, a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent apprenticeship, strong analytical skills, and excellent English.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Handle AP and AR invoices in Microsoft Dynamics 365 BC.
• Manage expense processes and company card statements.
• Prepare timely P&L for the Swiss entity.
• Ensure data accuracy and clarity in reporting.
• Own reporting, planning, budgeting, and controlling within Finance.
• Coordinate with external accounting partners for non-Swiss subsidiaries.
• Oversee treasury management and VAT/compliance.
• Provide admin support to Finance and People & Culture teams.
• Support cross-functional office operations.

We are now looking for an Accountantto support our Finance team, someone who balances a detailed-oriented approach with the pragmatism required to thrive in a start-up operating at the forefront of cutting-edge technological advancements. Requirements

• ~5 years experience: hands-on experience in accounting or financial controlling, ideally in a dynamic or growth-oriented environment
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics, or a completed relevant commercial apprenticeship
• Strong analytical capabilities: able to translate data into clear, accurate, and relevant insights
• Proven entrepreneurial mentality: strong business-oriented decision-making skills with a balanced approach to speed vs. risk with a bias towards impact
• Collaborative team player with demonstrated ability to build trust, communicate openly and effectively with stakeholders across levels and to collaborate across functions
• Hands-on approach: pragmatic and “roll-up-your-sleeves” mentality, handling adjacent tasks as needed (incl. operational & admin tasks)
• Languages: Fluent in written and spoken & English (French and or Italian language skills are a plus)
• Experience in a "Treuhandbüro" (accounting company) is a plus

Responsibilities

Accounting Operations and Systems

• A/P invoices and A/R invoices in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
• Expense management (e.g., company credit cards, invoices etc.)

Financial Reporting, Planning and Controlling

• Prepare timely and accurate P&L reporting for the Swiss entity
• Ensure accuracy, cleanliness and clarity of data, numbers and figures
• Take ownership of reporting, planning, budgeting and controlling within the Finance team

Consolidation and Global Coordination

• Support company consolidation activities
• Coordinate external accounting partners for non-Swiss subsidiaries (incl. New York, London, Berlin and Singapore)

Treasury and Compliance

• Responsible for treasury management and associated tasks
• Ensure compliance with VAT, insurance requirements, local statutory obligations, etc.

People, Office, and Cross- Functional Support: administrative tasks for the Finance and People & Culture teams, as well as for general office management
