Job summary

UBS is seeking a motivated student to join its 2027 Internship Program within Global Wealth Management in Zurich. You will work on risk models, analytics and client-focused projects under the Investment Suitability Methodology team, gaining exposure to portfolio construction and investment advice.

You will develop technical and financial skills, receive mentorship, attend educational events, and have opportunities to intern for the Graduate Talent Program after graduation.

Qualifications

• 4 semesters completed and graduated no longer than six months ago (bachelor's or master's)
• degree in a quantitative or finance area (statistics, quantitative finance, mathematics, financial engineering)
• knowledge of statistical and econometric methods; understanding of Python or R, GitLab version control and SQL

Your team

You’ll become part of Global Wealth Management. We provide advice-based solutions to deliver products and services designed to address the needs of ultra-high net worth and high-net worth individuals and families. We’ve successfully built the number one wealth management franchise in the world. You’ll work with the best talent in the industry, as we help manage, preserve and grow the wealth of our clients.

More specifically, you will be working in our Investment Suitability Methodology team in Zurich, the investment risk competence center within Global Wealth Management. We are responsible for models and methodologies which are a crucial success factor across the stages of the GWM investment process. Our work and outputs support all GWM client advisors for portfolio construction and for providing suitable investment advice.

Your expertise

We’re Looking For a Candidate Who

• has completed at least 4 semesters of a bachelor's degree, and graduated no longer than six months ago (bachelor's or master's degree)
• has degree in a quantitative or finance area (statistics, quantitative finance, mathematics, financial engineering, etc.)
• has knowledge of statistical and econometric methods and their application
• has understanding of Python or R, Gitlab version control and SQL
• has strong interest in financial markets and risk management
• has excellent English (written and oral), fluency in Germany is a plus
• potential post-graduate degree like CFA or FRM as a plus
• has values that align with ours: hard-working, trustworthy, dedicated and collaborative
• is a strategic thinker with strong communication skills
• is motivated to work in a business with high demands and tight deadlines
• can evidence how experimental and responsible use of AI can improve outcomes and efficiency

Start Date: February 2027

Your program

This paid internship will last 6 months. You’ll work with our experts and learn about the industry, our clients and our firm. You’ll be right at the heart of our business, learning from your colleagues, taking part in day-to-day operations. You'll be given mentors along the way and will have the chance to get to know some of the most senior members of our teams.

You’ll have plenty of opportunities to develop new skills and make contacts along the way. If you like challenges, enjoy learning and want to work where no two days are the same, this program is for you.

If you have a successful internship, you may get an offer to return for our Graduate Talent Program after you've completed your studies.
