Job summary

A community health organization in Halifax is seeking a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) to provide trauma-informed medical care. The role requires responding to emergencies, conducting forensic exams, and working closely with healthcare professionals. Qualifications

  • Must be licensed as an RN or NP in the province of Nova Scotia.
  • Current CPR required.
  • Must be available for community-based SANE training upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Function as part of the on-call SANE response team.
  • Respond to calls at designated site within 1.5 hours.
  • Conduct medical-forensic exams and maintain chain of evidence.
  • Provide trauma-informed and culturally competent care.
