Job Description:

We are ready to take this game to the next level and need someone passionate and responsible for the effective management and training of security personnel, ensuring that all officers are well‑prepared to maintain safety and security across various shifts and locations. This role will focus on ensuring that security operations run smoothly, in line with corporate policies and regulatory standards. The position also includes oversight of shift scheduling, incident response, and the development of training programs to equip security officers with the necessary skills and knowledge to manage different scenarios.

YOUR ROLE IN THE GAME

Reporting to the Manager of Corporate Security Services you will be empowered to implement strategies that enhance operational efficiency and ensure a safe environment. The role requires a highly adaptable individual who can work a variety of schedules, including weekends, nights, and holidays, across rotating shifts and multiple locations. The successful candidate will be available for all shift types (day, evening, and night) and able to respond to emergency on‑call needs as required. This position involves direct supervisory responsibilities and demands a strong, consistent presence both in operational settings and training environments. A valid Ontario G driver’s license in good standing, along with access to a reliable vehicle, is required.

Training & Development:
  • Design, develop, and deliver modern, engaging security training programs that apply adult‑learning principles, scenario‑based exercises, practical simulations, and interactive training technologies to build operational readiness.

  • Conduct comprehensive training gap analyses to proactively identify deficiencies, emerging risks, skills shortages, and opportunities to strengthen and modernize the curriculum.

  • Distribute, communicate, and reinforce updated safety, security, and training standards, ensuring all personnel remain informed, compliant, and aligned with corporate requirements.

  • Maintain, administer, and continually update the Security In‑Service Training Platform; oversee training records to verify that all mandatory certifications, refreshers, and compliance requirements are completed on time.

  • Ensure all training content remains current by integrating new legislation, regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and evolving security threats, update curriculum proactively in response to organizational and environmental changes

  • Collaborate with internal business units and external partners to design and deliver security awareness initiatives and educational programs that effectively address organizational needs and operational realities.

  • Support Management and Health & Safety by helping maintain the corporate Evacuation Program, including the delivery of training and practical instruction to enterprise evacuation teams to ensure effective emergency response.

  • Evaluate training effectiveness through direct observation, participant feedback, performance assessments, and documented metrics; adjust content and instructional methods to continuously improve learning outcomes.

  • Translate complex concepts, policies, and emerging security challenges into clear, practical training that security officers can apply confidently in day‑to‑day operations.

Supervision:
  • Oversee day-to-day security operations across multiple shifts and sites, ensuring the safety of employees, guests, property, and assets.

  • Coordinate with the manager and other business units to ensure alignment of security measures with operations.

  • Lead, mentor, motivate and evaluate security team, addressing performance, disciplinary, or operational concerns.

  • Oversee shift schedules, coordinate coverage, and requirements.

  • Monitor, evaluate and approve incident reports, daily logs, and other officer activities.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact during incidents requiring security intervention, ensuring a timely and effective response.

  • Manage and direct staff during emergencies and non‑emergencies, providing leadership and support to mitigate risks and resolve situations.

  • Ensure security protocols and procedures are consistently followed by all personnel.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE GAME
Knowledge:
  • Post Secondary education and/or experience in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Public Administration, or related fields. Candidates must have a strong understanding of physical security principles, threat and risk assessment methodologies, protective operations, and emergency management practices, and must demonstrate the highest level of integrity.

  • Functional knowledge in all acts, regulations, and legislative requirements governing the security industry in Ontario. This includes a thorough understanding of the Alcohol Gaming Control Act (AGCO), Trespass to Property Act (TPA), the Private Security and Investigative Services Act (PSISA), related regulations, industry standards, compliance obligations, and any other applicable provincial or federal legislation that impacts security operations and service delivery.

  • Must possess valid First Aid and CPR certification. BLS Instructor certification is preferred. Candidates who do not already hold instructor‑level certification will be required to obtain it within 90 days of hire, with employer support.

  • Experience designing, developing, and delivering professional training programs, with emphasis on security, compliance, emergency response, and legal obligations.

  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) to create reports, training curricula, presentations, and assessments.

Priority will be given to candidates who hold instructor level certifications in one or more of the following areas: First Aid and CPR, De‑escalation, Situational Awareness, Incident Management, Use of Force, Arrest Authorities, Disengagement, Non‑Violent Crisis Intervention, or other relevant security training programs.

Experience:
  • Demonstrate proven, hands‑on experience in security operations, preferably within a corporate or enterprise environment.

  • Bring a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory or team‑lead role, providing guidance, coaching, and performance oversight to security personnel.

  • Apply strong technical knowledge of access control systems, CCTV platforms, incident management systems, and other core security technologies.

  • Possess at least 3 years of experience developing, delivering, and evaluating training programs, with a focus on safety, security, emergency response, and compliance.
