The Medical Advisor will serve as an independent contractor to provide advice on strategic, clinical, and quality aspects of the Screening Program for Lung Cancer.

The Medical Advisor will provide innovative prevention and screening strategies built on key clinical and quality evidence-based practice frameworks. The Medical Advisor will facilitate implementation of inter-jurisdictional provincial standards / protocols / guidelines, and identify best practices for prevention and screening programs. • The SCA will seek guidance on performance management and clinical performance reviews related to screening program(s) as well as medical audits, peer and interdisciplinary reviews, and chart and incident report reviews as necessary.
  • The SCA expects that you will promote its strategic vision and that of the Population Health Department to improve screening participation, client navigation, and follow up of abnormal results.

  • The SCA expects your involvement on relevant program advisory and quality improvement committees to advise on clinical questions and engage primary health care providers.
  • The SCA Population Health staff will contact you to ask questions on prevention and screening related to data collection, procedures, medical inquiries and client follow up.
  • The SCA expects your participation in academic activities, for example teaching and research related to cancer prevention and screening, contributions to scholarly publications, and presentations to enhance the SCA's health promotion profile.
