Job Description

Job Summary :

As an integral part of the Engineering team, the Software Architect will work on the software requirements, design, development, integration, and release to production of high-performance radar systems. The role requires strong knowledge of signal processing and algorithms, with a focus on continuous improvement of tools and processes for software development activities.

The Software Architect is responsible for the design, development, and execution of software activities. The individual should be comfortable working closely with discipline leads and experts to develop concepts, plan development activities, and evaluate designs and prototypes. Leadership in design and the ability to generate content supporting program milestones and stakeholder briefings are essential. This is a hands-on leadership role in an R&D environment, ideal for technically strong individuals with a proven track record in product development.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities :

• Design, develop, and execute software solutions for radar systems.
• Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies, and processes to ensure high-quality solutions.
• Coordinate software development activities and monitor progress.
• Design and optimize test programs for product acceptance, validation, and calibration.
• Maintain automatic test programs that analyze and validate performance of detection, tracking, and classification algorithms.
• Lead validation and verification of radar systems and software modules.
• Prepare and maintain test procedures documentation for product compliance.
• Perform and oversee radar calibration procedures as required.

Job Qualifications :

• Advanced degree in Engineering or related disciplines.
• 7+ years of experience in software engineering, preferably in validation/testing environments.
• Strong knowledge of C/C++, Python, Matlab, and IP networks.
• Excellent attention to detail and multi-tasking abilities.
• Experience in small business environments is a plus.
• Bilingual with strong verbal and written communication skills in both French and English.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Eligible to be certified under the Canadian Controlled Goods Program and authorized to work in Canada.
