Job summary

Government of Yukon is seeking Registered Nurses for a permanent full-time role in Carcross, Yukon, or two part-time positions in a 6 week on/6 week off rotation. As an expanded-nursing role, you will deliver primary care and emergency services, with health education and disease prevention in community settings.

The position emphasizes working with diverse communities, ongoing orientation, and strong teamwork within Community Nursing. A $7,500 signing bonus is offered for newly hired nurses.

Qualifications

• Current registration with a Canadian registered nursing regulatory authority.
• Recent substantial experience working in emergency.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification.
• Certification or education in the expanded nursing role is considered an asset.
• Experience in community health and cross-cultural settings is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary health services and emergency treatment in community settings.
• Deliver health education, promotion activities and disease prevention.
• Support planning, development, implementation and evaluation of public health programs.
• Collaborate with RN colleagues and other health practitioners to deliver care.
