Job summary

Directions Youth Services, a division of Family Services of Greater Vancouver, seeks a shelter coordinator to help youth access the DYSC drop-in and move toward essential needs. You will develop service plans, assist with housing applications, referrals, income assistance, and coordinate with community partners to support at-risk youth.

This 6-month term, 35-hour week role offers a supportive work culture with flexibility, wellness days, and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Social Work or Youth care or related field.
• Minimum three years experience with homeless/at-risk youth.
• Experience with adolescent development and related issues.
• First Aid certificate required.
• Lived experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Support youth accessing the DYSC drop-in and develop service plans.
• Assist with housing applications and referrals to programs.
• Coordinate with community stakeholders to ensure appropriate care.
• Contribute to a culture of harm reduction and confidentiality.
