Job summary

Nova Scotia Health is seeking a Youth Health Centre Coordinator to provide leadership, youth engagement, and navigation of health services within the school setting and its community.

The role works with school administrators, health professionals, and community partners to promote youth health and equity, requiring a baccalaureate degree in a health care field and experience with youth in a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate degree in a health care discipline (RN, OT, SW, nutritionist)
• Minimum of three years’ experience with youth in a relevant field
• Registration or eligibility with a regulated health care discipline
• Ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team
• Trauma-informed, non-judgmental approach to youth support
• Experience creating opportunities for youth engagement and leadership
• Understanding of social determinants of health and equity
• Public health principles, partnerships and community development experience
• Experience in health promotion in school/community; French an asset
