Job summary

The Nova Scotia Co-operative Council seeks a Youth Program Coordinator to plan and run Career Rising Camp and the summer program across multiple Nova Scotia communities. You will build relationships with youth, families, employers, and partners to ensure safe, engaging experiences.

Responsibilities include coordinating the three-day Camp, arranging transport, scheduling workshops, tracking payroll hours, and providing mentorship during the six-week work placements.

Qualifications

• Graduate of, or currently completing, a post-secondary program in a related field.
• Demonstrated experience working with youth.
• Experience facilitating groups, workshops, activities, or youth programming.
• Strong organizational and coordination skills for multiple activities and vendors.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Must reside in the region you are applying for.
• Must be available to attend Coordinator Training in Truro, NS, Feb 22–26, 2027.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and facilitate a three-day Career Rising Camp.
• Develop and coordinate camp schedule; arrange transportation, meals, venues, and supplies.
• Recruit and maintain relationships with local employers for six-week placements.
• Oversee the two-week summer skills development and orientation period.
• Mentor youth during the six-week work experience; conduct site visits and check-ins.
• Document program activities, outcomes, and updates for management.
