Job summary

Our Place Peel is hiring an Employment and Education Supervisor to guide youth 16-24 toward self-sufficiency by helping them access employment and educational opportunities. The role leads program operations and partners with community services in the Region of Peel.

The successful candidate will have a social services degree, 3–4 years’ experience with youth, and at least 1 year of supervisory experience, with strong communication and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• 3-4 years of experience in social services with youth
• At least 1 year supervisory experience
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Flexibility to work in a 24-hour, 7 days a week operation with on-call rotation
• Knowledge of Region of Peel resources
• Cultural competency and EDIB/anti-oppressive awareness
• Valid Ontario G Driver’s Licence with clean abstract and $2,000,000 liability insurance
• Vulnerable Sector Check/Criminal Record Check required

Responsibilities

• Empower youth toward self-sufficiency and employment/education opportunities
• Provide 1:1 support for skills development related to employability and education attainment
• Enhance partnerships with employment and education community services
• Assist youth in accessing employment resources, education programs, and vocational training
• Advocate on behalf of youth to promote inclusion in education and employment
• Maintain safety, procedures and policy compliance for all safety requirements
• Compile monthly reports for program evaluation and development
• Participate on committees and task forces with partner agencies
• Ensure professional standards in client documentation and case management
• Foster a positive and supportive working environment
• Manage program operations in collaboration with stakeholders
