Job summary

Northside Community Centre YMCA in Red Deer is seeking a part-time YMCA Experience Associate (YEA) to ensure welcoming experiences for members and guests. You will process memberships, registrations, and service inquiries while delivering exceptional customer service in a busy community centre setting. The role is approx.

31 hours per week with flexible mornings, evenings, and weekend shifts. Prior customer service experience, First Aid/CPR-C, and the ability to obtain a Police Check are

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous customer service experience is an asset.
  • First Aid & CPR-C certification.
  • Police Information Check and Vulnerable sector check required/obtainable.
  • Works well as part of a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and technology.
  • Flexible schedule – mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Promote a positive YMCA experience for all visitors and assist with program registrations.
  • Spend majority of time in direct service delivery.
  • Provide information on programs and services and process registrations.
  • Lead tours and welcome prospective members.
  • Respond to inquiries promptly and escalate issues as needed.
  • Follow processes to promote growth and retention and ensure excellent experiences.
  • Maintain a safe environment following health, safety and protection policies.

About the Role

This YMCA Experience Associate (YEA) ensures that members, guests, and participants have positive and welcoming experiences while visiting our Centre. The role is responsible for processing membership sales, services, and program registrations, which directly contributes to member satisfaction and the overall success of YMCA programs. The YEA team delivers exceptional customer service and resolving member inquiries efficiently and professionally.

This is a part-time role working approximately 31-hours per week. Successful candidates must have flexible availability to support mornings, evenings, and weekend work.

Responsibilities

Program and Service Delivery

  • Promote and facilitate a positive YMCA experience for anyone who visits our center, role model YMCA values in each interaction by delivering service responsibly, honestly and with care.
  • Spend 90-100% of time in direct service delivery.
  • Be available to provide information on YMCA programs and services to meet individual needs, process registrations for memberships, events, programs, and services. Process and approve Financial Assistance applications.
  • Lead tours and welcome prospective members.
  • Respond to all requests and concerns in a timely manner, communicate issue with appropriate staff as needed.
  • Follows processes, systems and initiatives that will promote growth, improve retention and ensure all YMCA experiences are excellent as directed.
  • Assess and identify service situations and exercises sound judgment in recommending and facilitating solutions both within there are and the Centre.
  • Maintains a safe and supportive environment for all by following YMCA Health Safety Child Protection and Emergency policies and procedures.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous customer service experience is an asset.
  • Intermediate (Standard) First Aid & CPR-C.
  • Able to obtain a Police Information Check and Vulnerable sector check.
  • Works well as part of a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office and other forms of technology effectively.
  • Flexibile work schedule – including early mornings, evenings, weekends and stat holidays.
