Job summary

The YMCA of Northern Alberta is seeking a dedicated facilitator to lead and deliver high-quality programming that reflects YMCA values. This role guides children through play-based learning, nurtures development, and builds strong relationships with children and their families.

You will implement approved curriculum designed to promote developmental growth, foster creativity, and support positive social interactions while upholding inclusion and safety in all activities.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children preferred.
• Level 1, 2 or 3 Child Care Certification (or in progress).
• Standard First Aid & CPR – C.
• Able to obtain a Police Information Check with Vulnerable sector check.

Responsibilities

• Implements YMCA approved curriculum designed to promote the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of each child, fostering a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment.
• Facilitating engaging activities that encourage creativity, exploration, and positive social interactions.
• Upholding the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of program delivery.
• Guide and redirect children in situations when conflicts arise using a variety of positive child guidance techniques.
• Treat all families respectfully, bearing in mind their values, culture and background.
• Build relationships with families and communicate, verbally on a daily basis.
• Ensure children are safe and accounted for at all times.
• Consistently provide a safe and clean environment following all cleaning/sanitizing procedures.
