Job summary

Harbour Link Container Services Inc. in Delta, BC, is seeking a Yard Worker for the Yard Operations team, reporting to the Manager of Container Yard Operations.

The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter who can work with minimal supervision and contribute to a safe, efficient terminal environment. Key duties include verifying container movement, updating the terminal management software, inspecting containers, coordinating truck arrivals, and handling inquiries.

Qualifications

• Basic computer and keyboarding skills required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Previous customer service experience would be an asset.
• Forklift experience would be an asset.

Responsibilities

• Verify the acceptance and release of containers entering and leaving the terminal.
• Perform and update container interchanges into the Company’s computerized terminal management software.
• Inspect containers as they enter and leave the terminal.
• Coordinate truck pickups and arrivals.
• Respond to email and phone calls.
• Sweep / wash the inside of containers.
• Monitor refrigerated container temperatures.
• Prepare inventory reports as required.
• Maintaining cleanliness of yard.
