The role requires lifting up to 50 lbs, the ability to work in a fast-paced setting, and compliance with pre-employment and CBSA clearance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Cross-train staff and collaborate with other departments to maximize communication and fluidity in operations.
• Address employee issues promptly to foster strong employee relations and reduce non-productive time.
• Control and minimize labor overtime, premium freight and repair expenses.
• Encourage leadership and training of staff to achieve company goals.
• Coach, counsel and appraise staff to maintain expected job results.

Career Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Operations Supervisor to join our Tidewater team, reporting to the Operations Manager. The successful candidate must be an enthusiastic and motivated self-starter able to work with minimal supervision.

Performing a full range of warehouse functions related to the movement and handling of all forms of cargo and other goods associated with trans-loading, warehousing and the examination of containerized cargo. The work involves assisting CBSA staff in the movement and handling of containerized cargo for examination, and the trans-loading of cargo between containers and other forms of transport in readiness for on carriage to destination.

Job Duties

• To provide leadership and supervise the workforce in a manner to ensure a seamless and efficient workflow that optimizes productivity and results in the quality of work performance exceeding company and customer expectations.
• To support the Safety program as directed
• To support the Commercial customers of Harbour Link and Tidewater to the level they expect with professionalism and a positive proactive approach to service
• To cross train staff and collaborate with other departments to achieve seamless communication to maximize the fluidity in all aspects of the company operations as needed.
• To address employee’s issues and concerns in a timely cooperative manner to foster effective employee relations and reduce non-productive time
• To control and minimize labor overtime, premium freight and repair expenses.
• To encourage leadership, self-motivation and training of staff to accomplish the company goals and objectives.
• Maintain the required job results by coaching, counseling and disciplining employees, planning, monitoring and appraising job results.

• Previous customer service experience would be an asset
• Fork lift experience would be an asset

Hours

Full - time Monday to Friday

Shift Schedule: Morning or Afternoon shift; to be determined based on operational needs.
