Job summary

Herc Rentals is seeking a yard worker to maintain organization of the yard and equipment while supporting shop operations. The role runs Monday to Friday, 7 am to 4 pm, and includes loading/unloading, equipment staging, and basic maintenance.

You will verify equipment status, stage gear for delivery and repair, and assist with diagnostics. Strong safety awareness and teamwork are essential; past yard or warehouse experience is beneficial.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 5 Driver's license.
• A recent abstract will be required.
• Forklift certification is a strong asset.
• Experience in warehouse or general labour is an asset.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors as required.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload rental equipment.
• Verify equipment status on the yard.
• Stage equipment for delivery and for maintenance.
• Diagnose and repair earth moving and aerial equipment.
• Review reservation reports and prepare correct equipment.
• Wash and perform light maintenance and function checks.
• Conduct equipment quality inspections.
• Maintain yard organization.
• Interact with customers as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Purpose

Our branch is looking for a yard worker to maintain organization of the yard and equipment all while providing support to shop operations. This position is Monday to Friday 7 am - 4 pm.

What you will do

• Loading and unloading of rental equipment
• Status verification of equipment on the yard
• Stage equipment for delivery
• Stage equipment for maintenance and repair activity
• Ability to diagnose and repair earth moving and aerial equipment
• Review reservation reports to ensure the correct equipment is ready to rent
• Wash and light maintenance of equipment, function checks of equipment prior to the next rental
• Equipment quality inspections
• Maintain organization on the yard
• Ability to deal with customers as required
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Valid Class 5 Driver's license
• A recent abstract will be required
• Previous experience repairing small tools considered an asset
• Previous experience in warehouse or general labour considered an asset
• Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
• Must be able to work indoors and outdoors when required of the job.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks; stretch, turn, twist, and reach overhead; bend, crouch, squat, kneel, and stoop for extended periods of time.
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
• Forklift certifciation strong asset.
• Must be a teamplayer with a positive attitude.

Pay Range: $24.62 per hour + $1050 per month living allowance
