Job summary

Insight Medical Imaging seeks an X Ray Technologist to join our expanding team in Edmonton. This permanent, part-time position rotates across 16 locations in the region, offering exposure to diverse imaging procedures and collaborative radiology care.

The role emphasizes patient safety, equipment operation, and ongoing training in Bone Densitometry and related modalities. A strong customer-focused mindset and adaptability in a fast-paced setting are essential.

Qualifications

• Clinical competency in medical radiography.
• Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of radiation safety and infection control.
• Willingness to cross train in BD, Fluoroscopy and ECGs.
• Pain Management and Bone Densitometry trained preferred.
• Completion of Medication Preparation training within the first three months of employment
• CLXT: Enrolment in Bone Densitometry course within first three months of employment and completion within first 6 months of employment.
• MRT: Completion of Bone Densitometry training within the first 3 months of employment.
• CPR Standard First aid certificate is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and performs a variety of standardized and/or complex procedures as set forth by the Radiologists and our referring Physicians.
• Responsible for the operation and basic maintenance of all equipment.
• DI Equipment: Must have working knowledge of all equipment and ensure all units are functioning correctly.
• Responsible for maintaining safety and the general care and cleanliness of the radiographic area, with particular attention to radiation safety and infection control.
• Knowledge of computer systems and all DI office duties.
• Assist in the training of new staff and students, as requested by MGM.
• Willingness to cross train in BD, Fluoroscopy and ECG’s.
