Job summary

British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (BCI) in Victoria, BC, seeks a Workday Integration Engineer to own the engineering, reliability, and evolution of the Workday platform across HR, Finance, Payroll, and Procurement.

You will design robust integration solutions using Workday tools, monitor platform health, and mentor engineers while leading complex deliverables and setting standards in partnership with the Senior Manager, Service Delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• Hands-on Workday integration development experience in a mid-to-large enterprise environment.
• Workday security experience including encryption and integration security configuration.
• Experience supporting Workday HCM and at least one other module (Financials, Payroll, or Procurement).
• Proficiency with Workday integration tools: Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, Cloud Connect, Orchestrate.
• Strong technical skills with XSLT, XML, JSON, SOAP and REST APIs.
• Hands-on Workday development including orchestration, PMD scripting, and UI components.
• Proficiency with Workday Report Writer (Advanced/Matrix/Composite) and calculated fields.
• Experience with Agile and DevOps practices; ability to mentor and lead.
• Excellent communication, able to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Workday integration certification is strongly preferred; leadership experience in design reviews.

THE OPPORTUNITY

You'll own the engineering, reliability, and evolution of BCI's Workday platform, building and sustaining integrations, configuring platform capabilities, and ensuring dependable data flow and reporting across HR, Finance, Payroll, and Procurement. Partnering closely with vendors and internal teams, you'll design and support robust integration solutions using modern Workday tooling and API patterns, monitor platform health, and resolve complex issues through root cause analysis. You'll set integration architecture standards, mentor engineers, lead the most complex deliverables, and shape platform strategy in partnership with the Senior Manager, while also working hands on across mid to high complexity integrations and stakeholder engagements. Your work will strengthen platform standards, security, and release readiness.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Service Delivery (HR, Legal, CR&A, Corporate), you'll work within BCI's Technology department, collaborating with stakeholders including HR, Finance, Payroll, Procurement, Cyber Security, Risk, and external vendors.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience
• Hands-on Workday integration development experience, preferably in a mid-to-large enterprise environment
• Workday security experience including PGP encryption and integration security configuration
• Experience supporting Workday HCM and at least one additional module: Financials, Payroll, or Procurement
• Proficiency in Workday integration tools: Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, Cloud Connect, and Workday Orchestrate
• Strong technical skills using XSLT (including ETV and XTT), XML, JSON, SOAP, and REST APIs
• Hands-on experience with Workday development including orchestration, PMD scripting, and UI components
• Proficiency in Workday Report Writer including Advanced, Matrix, and Composite reports, calculated fields, and BIRT reporting
• Experience with Agile (Lean, Kanban, or Scrum) and DevOps methods and practices
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills; able to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and present solutions to leadership
• Workday integration certification (Integration Core, Studio, and/or Extend) strongly preferred
• Proven experience leading integration architecture decisions and setting team standards
• Experience mentoring engineers and leading technical design reviews
• Track record of leading semi-annual release planning across multiple modules

• Familiarity with Workday Prism Analytics; working knowledge of SQL, data modeling, and ETL concepts
