Job Summary :

SE Health is currently seeking a Payroll Workday Analyst Lead who will play a critical role in maximizing the value of the Workday platform by ensuring its smooth implementation and operation, supporting users, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

As part of SE Health’s strategic people-focused transformation journey, SE Health is embarking on an exciting journey to transform our Finance, HR, and Payroll operations with the Workday integrated ERP Solution. This role will involve configuring, executing implementation activities, and managing the ongoing administration of the Workday Payroll module within our organization.

The Payroll Workday Analyst Lead must specialize in the Workday Payroll module with knowledge of other relevant Payroll Technologies (e.g., Time Management systems). In this role, you will work closely with the Finance and Payroll teams, under the guidance of the Payroll Manager (Workday), to realize the design by configuring and optimizing the Workday solution for Payroll. You will use your expertise in configuration and system administration to drive initiatives that improve efficiency, accuracy, and compliance across Payroll processes.

Duration : Looking for an IC (Independent Contractor) for a 2-year contract (with high possibility of conversion).

Job Responsibilities :

System Configuration and Validation

  • Configure the Workday Payroll module, in alignment with SE Health’s business needs and Canadian payroll standards, ensuring all configurations align with best practices and business requirements.
  • Develop understanding of other FIN and HR technology solutions to support implementation (through configurations) and setup activities.
  • Work with various business stakeholders (Transformation leads, Solution leads, and business users) to translate solution designs into functional configurations and provide solutions.
  • Manage security roles, access rights, and domain permissions specific to Payroll to ensure secure access and data compliance per Role-based access control design for data security and permission.
  • Monitor and support integrations with external systems that ensure accurate data flow and functionality (including but not limited to operational systems, ERP, banking, and expense management platforms).
  • Develop Workday Reports - design custom reports, dashboards, and KPIs that support data-driven decision-making.

Validation, Testing, and Quality Assurance

  • Develop and execute test plans for configurations and system updates that validate solution designs of the Workday Payroll module.
  • Perform validation checks and prepare end-to-end testing scenarios with cross-functional teams and business leads on each configured module to ensure settings and data accuracy, and that integrations work as expected across Workday modules.
  • Configure specifications and process documentation to maintain compliance and support knowledge transfer.
  • Analyze system testing and user feedback from UAT and address discrepancies through configuration.

System Support

  • Provide day-to-day and project support on the Workday Payroll Module, troubleshoot issues, and serve as the primary point of contact for resolution.
  • Support integrations and data migration by validating financial data, reconciling transferred data, and troubleshooting discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with HCM and operational system administrators to ensure seamless integration and accurate data transfer to Payroll Module.

Adoption and Training

  • Provide support on Workday Payroll Module, troubleshoot issues, and serve as the primary contact for resolution.
  • Support integrations and data migration by validating financial data, reconciling transferred data, and troubleshooting discrepancies.

Education : Bachelor's degree in finance, Human Resources, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Experience :

  • Minimum of 3 years hands-on experience with Workday Payroll configuration, focusing on Canadian payroll requirements; including configuring pay groups, earnings, deductions, and tax rules.
  • Experience in implementations and active roles in Workday deployment is desirable but not required.
  • Hands-on experience with other Payroll solutions is a plus.

Certifications :

  • Workday certifications (Finance, HCM, Payroll, or related areas) or equivalent training in HCM fundamentals, Business Process Configuration, Report Writing, dashboards, EIBs, and Workday features are assets.
  • Payroll professional qualifications are desirable but not mandatory.
  • Certifications in Agile and Scrum methodologies are a plus.

Skills and Competencies :

  • Experience with Workday configuration and exposure to integration, reporting, and testing tools is beneficial.
  • Understanding of Finance, Payroll, and HR technologies to support organizational goals.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral), with a customer service focus and ability to build relationships with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Analytical, collaborative problem-solving skills, and understanding of solution design rationale.
  • Familiarity with Workday integration tools (EIB, Studio, PECI, APIs) and technologies like XML, XSLT, SOAP, REST, Web Services, and EIB is advantageous.
  • Ability to present data and ideas effectively across various audiences.
  • Product-driven mindset and passion for continuous improvement.
  • Strong attention to detail, especially regarding compliance and data accuracy.
