Job summary

ALSTOM in Saint-Bruno, Quebec, seeks a Work Package Controller to lead cost performance and industrial controlling of complex engineering projects. You will interface with engineering and operations to monitor costs and report overruns.

This finance role sits at the core of the project lifecycle, from validation to cost-to-complete, with emphasis on EAC, ROFO, and variance analysis. You will drive cost reductions and KPI tracking across WPs.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of financial management of large-scale projects in the industrial sector.
• Experience in bidding processes and project controlling on long-term contracts.
• Familiarity with cost-to-complete, EAC, and variance analysis preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own and validate Tender Engineering and Manufacturing financials to support EAC, savings, and variance analysis.
• Bridge budget, forecast, ROFO and actuals, line-by-line, identifying root causes and cost deviations. EAC reconciliation.
• Partner with Project Procurement & Finance Managers to optimize material cost control.
• Monitor cost evolution, inflation, indexation and QCD deviations.
• Drive KPIs, cost reductions, tender support, and risk mitigation plans.
• Be the focal point for claims, material variances and SAP-GSI cost data integrity.
• Proactively manage cost-to-complete, target tracking and cost gap closure.

We are looking for a high-impact finance professional to lead the cost performance and industrial controlling of complex, multi-million engineering projects. This role sits at the core of the project lifecycle, from engineering validation to Work Package financial control, costing and risk mitigation strategies.

Your future role

You are the interface with engineering & operations, and your main responsibilities are to monitor the evolution of costs related to work packages (WPs), identify cost reduction opportunities, and report any cost overruns and productivity deterioration.

You have developed solid knowledge and skills in financial management of large-scale projects in the industrial sector. You have been involved in bidding processes and acted as a project controller/sourcing controller on long-term contracts; you are our ideal candidate.

You will be specifically responsible for
