Job summary

ABB Canada Inc is seeking a skilled technician to interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and assemble high‑power system structures. You will cut, assemble, and wire distribution panels and control panels, install busbars, and connect power components in electrical cabinets in a manufacturing setting.

Preferred candidates hold a DEP in Electronics or related fields, have strong manual skills, and are fluent in French and English.

Qualifications

• DEP in Electronics, Electrotechnics, Electromechanics, Cable Assembly, or Avionics.
• Good manual skills and manual dexterity.
• Autonomy in self-directed tasks and problem solving.
• Proficiency in both French and English.
• 5 years of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interpret industrial drawings, electrical schematics, and mechanical plans.
• Use cutting machines, if required, for metal profiles used in manufacturing of high‑power system structures.
• Assemble structures from pre‑drilled steel profiles.
• Assemble sub‑assemblies for distribution panels and control panels.
• Perform wiring of distribution panels and control panels.
• Install busbars in enclosures to carry high‑voltage current.
• Install and connect power components in electrical cabinets.
