Job summary

British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (BCI) invites applications for a Settlements Co-op Student/Intern for the Winter term (January–April). You will join the Settlements team within Investment Operations to learn trade settlement, corporate actions, and cash management while sharpening analytics and project management skills in a fast-growing environment.

You will work in Victoria, BC, with in‑person requirements and occasional remote work.

Qualifications

• Fundamental knowledge of finance, business and investment disciplines.
• Clear written and spoken communication.
• Professional interpersonal skills and teamwork.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize tasks.
• Interest in operational investment management and ethics.
• Strong problem solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with MS Office; Bloomberg experience is a plus.
• Prior co-op/intern experience or exposure to capital markets preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, review, reconcile and analyze high volume financial transactions for trade settlement.
• Assist with various projects under supervision of the Settlements Associate.
• Contribute to Settlements initiatives and identify process inefficiencies.
• Develop knowledge of internal systems relevant to settlements.
• Support departmental initiatives and build cross-team relationships.
• Collaborate with Investment Operations teams and other departments.
