Ledcor Highways Ltd. is hiring across Ontario for winter and seasonal highway maintenance.   • Provide a copy of a 3-year commercial driver’s abstract.
  • Previous experience operating a snow plow truck and/or wheel loader is a strong asset.

Responsibilities

  • Operate snowplows, wheel loaders, and other heavy equipment as required.
  • Maintain Ontario Provincial Highways year-round, including labourer duties (pothole repair, guardrail repair, etc.).
  • Work outside in all weather conditions.

You will be responsible for winter and seasonal maintenance of Ontario highways, using various trucks and heavy equipment.

Premiums
  • $3/hour AZ Premium when directed to operate equipment that require AZ
  • $5/hour Snow plow Premium
  • $1/hr Night Shift Premium
Work Conditions
  • Local applicants will be given preference due to the location of the work
  • Camp accommodations and meal allowance available in Wawa, Agawa, Batchawana, Chapleau, and Hinkler lake (No travel allowance)
  • As we respond to various weather patterns, shift work, on-call, and night shift will be required
  • Work schedules will consist of either 5 consecutive days followed by 2 days off or 6 consecutive days followed by 1 day off, with daily shifts lasting 8 to 12 hours (Shop specific) Winter seasonal from Oct 1 to April 30th CLAC union position
Essential Responsibilities
  • Operate snowplows, wheel loaders, and other heavy equipment as required
  • Maintain Ontario Provincial Highways year-round, including assisting with Labourer duties (pothole repair, guardrail repair, bridge and signage cleaning, hazard remediation, etc.)
  • Work outside in all weather conditions
Qualifications
  • Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting 50 lbs. on a regular basis, bending, kneeling, crouching etc.
  • Valid AZ or DZ driver’s license with air endorsement
  • Provide a copy of a 3-year commercial driver’s abstract
  • Previous experience operating a snow plow truck and/or wheel loader is a strong asset
Compensation

$25.50 - $33.50 per hour This is the applicable wage range for this position. Individuals will be assigned a base wage within this range based on trade certification and/or apprenticeship level, industry experience, and work location. Remote, site-based positions may be eligible for additional incentives including but not limited to travel and accommodation allowances.
